Types of Jib Cranes

Cranes are used for a wide range of applications but are mainly used at harbours and construction sites to lift and move heavy objects. Cranes have made the construction of high rise buildings, bridges and any tall structure relatively easier. Of all the different types of cranes that are manufactured the JIB crane offers two great advantages that makes it the ideal equipment for lifting and moving materials at construction sites. The JIB crane can rotate 360 degrees and are capable of lifting weights up to 5 tonnes.  A JIB crane consists of a vertical stand on which a horizontal boom is mounted. The horizontal boom lifts and moves objects in an arc shape.
The different types of JIB cranes are
1.       Free standing JIB cranes
2.       The Mast type Jib Cranes and
3.       The Wall Mounted Jib Cranes

Free Standing JIB Cranes:

Free standing JIB cranes are designed to be mounted on a concrete platform and do not require any other support. These cranes are capable of a 360 degree rotation.  The  lifting capacity of a Free standing JIB crane is 1 to 5 tonnes. Special free standing JIB cranes are also manufactured and these cranes are capable of lifting up to 15 tonnes.

Mast Type JIB Cranes:

This type of crane is ideal for industrial applications and has the same lifting and rotation capacity of a free standing JIB crane.  There are two types of mast type JIB cranes: the full cantilever crane and the drop cantilever crane.

Wall Mounted JIB Cranes:

Wall mounted JIB is designed to be supported by the wall of a building. This crane has its own advantages and its disadvantages.  This crane is ideal for use in places where space is limited as it requires little space to lift or move objects. The wall mounted JIB cranes can carry the same amount of weight as a free standing JIB crane and a mast type JIB crane. The only disadvantage of a wall mounted JIB crane is that it cannot rotate a full 360 degrees and can only rotate up to 200 degrees.

All these different types of JIB cranes could be rented or leased. If you are looking for a company that rents or leases JIB cranes you can get in touch with these companies
