Power Tools and Their Applications

A power tool is a mechanical device which is designed to perform manual labor. These tools are commonly used in construction sites. They are also used to perform simple activities such as assembly, packing, production, and maintenance operations. They come in different shapes and sizes and are easy to operate.
Power tools can be portable or stationary, as the name suggests portable tools are lightweight and can be easy to carry. Stationary power tools are mounted on walls or surfaces. They are very heavy and are designed to perform complicated tasks. Most power tools require compressed air, combustion or electricity to work optimally. They perform tasks accurately and smoothly involving minimal human intervention. Dealers who sell power tools also give the customers instructions and guidelines on the use of these tools.

Here are some commonly used power tools:

Jigsaw

A Jigsaw is a power tool which is designed for cutting curves crafting wood, concrete slabs, and even metal. They are commonly used in crafting architectural designs in an artistic manner. The device comprises of a straight line saw which can uniquely cut material with utmost precession. The Jigsaw is similar to rasp and chisel. Making a straight cut with the jigsaw is difficult as it requires a good level of experience.

Drill

A conventional drill is a tool which is fitted with a cutting attachment which is known as a drill bit. The drill is designed in such a manner that it allows you to fasten or unfasten an attachment. You can attach a drill bit into the socket and can be used to drill holes in different types of materials. They can also be used to slice thin shavings and eliminate small imperfections on an uneven surface by attaching as auger bit to the drill.

Circular Saw

If you are looking for a sharp blade which is designed to cut wood, metal or plastic the circular saw is the tool you are looking for. This saw can be mounted on a table or handheld. In most cases, the device must be clamped in a secure manner when it is under operation. The circular saw comes with interchangeable blades which are designed to cut plastic, metal or wood accordingly.

Reciprocating Saw

The reciprocating saw is designed to cut concrete. A push and pull reciprocation motion of the blades enables the machine to cut through concrete. This power tool is used in construction and demolition work. The device comprises of a long blade which can be hand-held, they can be used on vertical surfaces. This tool is portable and is similar to a jigsaw.

Pneumatic Nailer

A pneumatic nailer is a type of nail gun which is used to drive nails into wood or other similar material. These devices are used as an alternative to hammers. Nails are driven into surfaces through the help of compressed air. Nail guns are used with fasteners which are mounted on long strips similar to stapler sticks. Nail guns vary in thickness depending on the material into which they are driven into.

Table Saw

A table saw is a very versatile tool used to conduct woodwork, it comprises of a circular saw blade driven by an electrically powered motor which is mounted on a table. The blade sticks to the table’s surface in order to provide support for the material being cut. This power tool is mostly used to cut wood.

Bandsaw

This power tool comprises a blade which consists of a band metal with teeth along an edge to cut various workpieces. Brand saws are used in crafting woodwork and metal works. They are best used in crafting irregular materials or curved shapes.
